The choir were delighted to donate a cheque for £1,500 to Hospice at Home, all of which was raised at their sell-out Christmas Concert. The cheque was presented to a representative of Hospice at Home during one of the choir's rehearsals in January.
The choir chose Hospice at Home as their charity this Christmas.
Wednesday 6th January sees the choir start back for the spring/summer terma and our first full term with Ryan Hanlon as MD. We eagerly await the music he has in store for us.
The December concert was a great success
Our first concert with Ryan as MD was hailed as one of our best. The choir enjoyed themselves and congratulations to Ryan for taking us on mid way through a term. The concert raised £700 for the Mayor of Carlisle charities (MIND and Carlisle Youth Zone) and as an added extra also raised £350 in a collection for the Cumbria Flood Relief Fund. Thank you to all our generous audience.
The Choir has a new Musical Director
Ryan Hanlon joined us in October following our audition process. The choir were immediately taken by his lively enthusiasm, and fun approach.
Ryan is finishing his course at University of Cumbria, has set up his own teaching business in Carlisle and has a growing reputation for the quality of his work. We all look forward to a long relationship.
